Why People Join Our Team

Racing House is based in Rosebank, Johannesburg and we work with adults who enjoy horse racing, good organisation and steady client service. Our team supports form guides, race-day hospitality and meeting information for racecourses such as Turffontein, Greyville, Kenilworth, Scottsville and Fairview. The work suits people who can handle deadlines, stay accurate and deal with clients in a calm, professional manner.

We are a local business, so day-to-day work often includes quick turnarounds, racecard updates and practical planning around race times, traffic, load-shedding and venue access. If you enjoy detail and can keep your head when the pace picks up, you may fit well here.

Roles We Commonly Hire For

The workshop and track side are where we hire most. Some roles focus on analysis and content, while others support hospitality, client care and operations. Depending on the need, we may hire for full-time, part-time or project-based work.

  • Form analysts and racing researchers who can read recent runs, draw positions, pace patterns and track conditions.
  • Hospitality staff who can help with race-day guest coordination, bookings and venue planning.
  • Client services and admin support for enquiries, scheduling and follow-up.
  • Content editors and coordinators who can keep copy clean, accurate and timely.
  • Operations support for internal planning, pack preparation and race-day logistics.

What We Look For In Applicants

We welcome applicants who are reliable, organised and able to write or speak clearly with clients. Horse-racing knowledge helps, especially if you understand terms like form, class, going, stamina and pace. For hospitality roles, good manners and attention to detail matter just as much as racing knowledge.

  • Comfort with working weekends and race days when needed.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional tone.
  • Ability to learn local racecourses, travel timing and basic race-day etiquette.
  • Interest in South African racing and the discipline to work with accuracy.

For betting-related work, we expect a responsible approach. We never encourage chasing losses and we always remind clients to set limits and bet only what they can afford to lose.

How To Apply

If you would like to join us, send your CV through the enquiry form on our contact page and include a short note about the role type you are interested in. Please mention your location, whether you are based in Rosebank, Sandton, Midrand, Randburg, Bedfordview, Pretoria, Centurion or Kempton Park, and note any relevant horse-racing, hospitality or client service experience.

We review applications as they come in. If your background fits what we need, we will contact you through the details you provide on the form. Please make sure your CV is current and easy to follow.

Working Race Days The Right Way

Race-day work is fast-moving and practical. Guests may need help understanding the racecard, finding the right viewing area or planning around restaurant and enclosure access. Staff also need to understand basic race-day etiquette, such as arriving early, keeping clear of restricted areas and being respectful of stewards, stable staff and other punters.

Our hospitality team works with venue schedules, weather and local conditions too. In Gauteng, that can mean afternoon storms, while coastal venues may bring humidity and changing track conditions. Being prepared matters, and so does keeping communication clear when plans change.

Who Fits In Well Here

We are a small team, so attitude counts. People who do well here are steady, practical and able to work with others without drama. They know that a good day is one where the information is accurate, the client is helped properly and the race-day plan runs on time.

Whether your strength is in analysis, hospitality or coordination, we look for people who care about doing the job properly. That is what keeps the work useful for our clients and manageable for the team.

Questions we get asked
